Will Smith gets the nod for playing Nigerian docto
The nominees for this year’s edition of the MTV Movie Awards have
been announced on the Snapchat channel of the media house, and it has Star Wars: The Force Awakens leading with 11 nomination. For performances, Will Smith who played Nigerian doctor Bennet Omalu in Concussion got
the nod for Best Male Performance, competing against Leonardo DiCaprio
(The Revenant), Michael B Jordan (Creed), amongst others.
Another rising star who was recognised is Nigerian-born John Boyega, nominated for the Best Breakthrough Performance category for his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The awards event will be co-hosted by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart.
